Conservation work is generally reserved to environmental conservation. This includes working with animals, plants and other facets of a local eco-system. Conservation work in developing counties is unique even to volunteers who may have environmental work experience in their home countries. Everything from the flora and fauna to the government regulations will be somewhat different.
Conservation work in developing countries can be as much of an exploring adventure as it is an exercise in managing natural resources. The land and animals that you will be working with are truly untouched by developing communities and to say the least, astounding.
Working on conversation projects is often more than the surface level experience of helping a society preserve their natural resources. It is a contribution to helping the society retain it's identity and sense of independence.
As much as it means to help a society bring new technology and resources to its members, it also serves a great purpose to assist in retaining some of the inherent cultural and natural uniqueness. Simply because a society is eager to move certain facets of their community into the "digital age" by no means insinuates they are willing to negate their identity to achieve that.
Most conservation projects are based in natural resources environments which not only celebrate the habitat, but also embrace the local ecosystem and its inhabitants in a fashion to promote sustainable growth for the society.
