The Lion Conservation Project is one of our most exciting programs.  You will be given the unique experience of close-up interaction with young lions with the goal of reintroduction to the wild.  The reserve spans 120 hectares of superb bush and grassland.  The lion population in the Park is approximately 80, of which nearly 25 are sub-adults and cubs.  All of the lion cubs born at the park are hand-reared and have been inoculated against all known feline diseases.  The park also boasts giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, impala, blesbok, duiker, and monkeys.

Working as a volunteer you will be involved in many aspects of conservation and lion care.  When the park has lion cubs you will be responsible for giving the cubs comfort, feeding them milk formula from a bottle and caring for their overall wellbeing.  You will also be involved with assisting in the upkeep of the reserve such as road maintenance, removal of alien vegetation, upkeep and improvement of the lion enclosures as well as walking the lions and preparing them for re-introduction.

Volunteer Activities may include:
Bottle-feeding baby lion cubs
Cleaning and maintenance of lion enclosures
Playing with and giving attention to lion cubs
Helping visitors interact with the cubs as well as making sure they are handled properly
General maintenance of the park
Helping to feed adult lions and other animals at the park

All GeoVisions programs include accommodation and meals, airport pick-up, project training, in country support, medical insurance, extensive pre-departure information and project orientation.
