Volunteers in the China Summer Program teach in secondary school-based summer English camps in Hunan Province.  The program is designed to bring native English speakers to teach students from all socioeconomic levels.  Your role will be to build students’ confidence in English through creative, orally-focused English lessons and to design and participate in cultural activities with your students. 

The program begins in mid-June and lasts for two months.  Volunteers will receive a week-long in-country orientation training before they begin teaching. 

Volunteers must be native English speakers and over the age of 18 (undergraduate students are welcome). Successful volunteers will be flexible, mature, and have a genuine interest in teaching.  Chinese language skill or prior teaching experience is helpful but not required.
