![]() ![]() Teach at the Access Academy, an intensive English and Quantitative Reasoning preparatory year for underprivileged, rural, and refugee women from South and Southeast Asia who have been accepted to the new Asian University for Women. This exciting university located in Chittagong, Bangladesh, will open in September 2009. The Access Academy opened for the first group of students in March 2008. Students will study intensive English, math, and computer skills in preparation for their university experience. Volunteers must be native English speakers and have a bachelor’s degree. Successful candidates must be mature, culturally sensitive, and exhibit an interest in women’s education and in Asia. Volunteers will be responsible for advising extracurricular student groups at the Access Academy in addition to their classroom assignments, and will have a deep commitment to empowering these highly talented Asian women from under-resourced backgrounds. |
