Volunteer abroad this winter holiday season at an Orphanage in South Africa. Situated just outside Stellenbosch and 35 minutes from Cape Town is a township where there is a home for children who have been orphaned and who are in desperate need of love and care. The children at the orphanage range in age from birth to 8 years old. This volunteer program is here to provide these children who have no family, with fun activities and things to look forward to during the holiday season. Volunteers will be involved in a range of activities including crafts, drama, sports and beach days as well as fun outings with the children and side trips including Robben Island, Table Mountain, a surf lesson and nature hike in the Hottentot Hollands Mountains.

How this program makes a difference:

Orphaned children in South Africa as a result of the HIV/Aids pandemic is a part of every day life in this country. GVI have paired up with a small but rapidly expanding childrens home that caters for these orphaned or disabled children and will be assisting them this festive season with a holiday program which will provide these children with fun activities and outings to look forward to. There is currently no such program in place and a desperate need at the home for extra hands and skills to help keep the children active and happy during the holiday season.
