![]() ![]() PLEASE VISIT GEOVISIONS.ORG for more details. The Protecting Australia’s Environment program allows you to become immersed in this country’s amazing environment in a way you never thought possible. This program offers volunteers ages 18-70 to work in many different conservation projects. These include tree planting, erosion control, seed collection, construction and maintenance of walking tracks, endangered flora and fauna surveys, weed control, habitat restoration and heritage restoration. The program includes all meals, accommodations and project related transportation. It begins every Friday throughout the year and you can choose to start out of seven different ‘gateway’ cities throughout Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Cairns, Darwin, Perth, Brisbane, and Adelaide). Accommodations vary each week, but include caravans, hostels, shearers’ quarters, bunkhouses and camping (tents are supplied). Each placement will also vary, as there are so many conservation projects going on across the country. These programs are in urban, regional and remote locations. We do our best to ensure a variety of projects and locations during the course of your Australian experience. You should be reasonably fit and prepared to take part to the best of your ability. You will be shown how to use all tools and equipment safely before you start each project, and there will always be a Team Leader there to help you. If you have a love of the outdoors and an interest in protecting the environment, than this program is for you! All GeoVisions programs include accommodation and some meals, airport pick-up, project training, in country support, medical insurance, extensive pre-departure information and project orientation.
